Fish Hoek Guide

8th June 2016 by Ross Munro Williams

Fish Hoek, a quiet, quaint, family orientated seaside town, situated on the False Bay coastline. Often going largely undiscovered by many tourists, this town does offer a peaceful, safe environment for a relaxing holiday, far from the madding crowd.

The pride of Fish Hoek is the bathing beach, renowned as probably the safest bathing beach in South Africa and sea temperature several degrees warmer than can be found on the Atlantic seaboard. Recent Shark net installations and Shark Spotters ensure that this beach is one of the safest beaches to swim in Cape Town during the summer months.

There are also many wonderful restaurants serving all sectors of the market with many being child friendly as well as a vast array of family activities such as yachting, wind surfing, kayaking, tennis, golfing at the famous Clovelly Country Club, mountain walks and seaside shopping.

Fish Hoek is a close to the Cape Of Good Hope National Park, the Penguins at Boulders Beach and is a mere 30 minutes drive from Central Cape Town, 45 minutes from the Stellenbosch winelands.
