Famous as one of the oldest towns in South Africa, this is the home of the South African Navy and was for many years a British Royal Naval base. An historic town with many of its buildings original and proclaimed National Monuments. Scarborough
A pristine, undeveloped coastline as well as the Cape of Good Hope National Park surround this small eco-friendly hamlet that for many years has been a remote holiday escape for those looking to flee town and city life as well as for those looking for ideal uncluttered surfing spots, for which this area is famous.
If you are looking for the above and perfect peace shattered only by the wind and breaking waves and abundant bird-life then go no further. A couple of restaurants and small shop are in the village and a short 20 minutes from the nearest shopping Mall for all your supplies.
Muizenburg
Once the holiday mecca of the mega wealthy Randlords, Muizenberg lost its glitter several decades ago but of late there have been major improvements to the town and it is once again beginning to regain some of its lost glory.

An enormous beach, famous for surfing and a definite surfing vibe make this an extremely popular and affordable destination for the young and young at heart. Surfers corner is the famous nursery for novice surfers and grommets.

Kalk Bay
Possibly the quaintest town in South Africa and with a very sixties vibe, the artistic fraternity, hippies, Rastafarians, the fishing community and backpackers all rub along very comfortably. Nothing appears to have changed here in the last 60 - 70 years.
The narrow coastal road running through the town is always busy and a wide variety of restaurants and eateries abound offering every imaginable type of cuisine. There are numerous arts and crafts shops and if you are into antiques or anything old and collectible then this is the place to be.
The old working fishing harbour is a wonderful experience and the vibe is incredible and earthy.
Noordhoek
Incredible is the only word to describe this vast 8 kilometers stretch of beach. Huge tracts of wetlands and dense vegetation in the valley make this a wonderfully diverse landscape. Once home only to large smallholdings, civilisation is making increasing inroads with higher density developments of housing estates and retirement villages.
The beach is dangerous for bathing but is a very popular surfing area. Safe bathing beaches can be found in nearby Fish Hoek.
Kommetjie
A small vibrant seaside town, situated on the Atlantic seaboard between Noordhoek and Scarborough. The area is largely residential and brings to mind one's visions of what a seaside town should look like. Very laid back and relaxed and even with its own Lighthouse.

Kommetjie is well known for surfing and body boarding.
There are local restaurants, village shops and you are only a ten minute drive to the Long Beach Mall with its numerous shops, cinema.s and restaurants. Cape Point Nature reserve is only 15 minutes drive away.
