Simons Town Guide

Famous as one of the oldest towns in South Africa, Simon’s Town is the home of the South African Navy and was for many years a British Royal Naval base. A historic town with many of its buildings original and proclaimed National Monuments.

Visit the excellent museums such as the Naval Museum and soak up the history of the town whilst browsing through the many varied and interesting small shops as well the famous Just Nuisance statue.

Arguably the most famous attraction in Simon’s Town is the Boulders Beach Penguin colony which is always a must visit for any tourist, while a short drive down the road takes you to the Cape Point Nature Reserve where you can experience standing at the tip of Africa.

Additional attractions around Simon’s Town include Scratch Patch where you can ‘scratch’ around and pick out your favourite minerals and take them home with you, The Cape Point Ostrich Farm, marvelous small and secluded beaches as well as numerous restaurants and shops that make Simon’s Town the perfect venue for a peaceful stay or day trip.
